Sacred East India Yatra: Gangasagar, Jagannath Puri & Champaran
Day 1 — Arrival in Kolkata & Local Sightseeing
Arrive at Kolkata Airport/Railway Station and transfer to your hotel. Begin your pilgrimage with visits to the holy Kalighat Temple, Dakshineswar Kali Temple, and Belur Math along the Hooghly River. Enjoy a quiet evening relaxing in Kolkata.
Day 2 — Excursion to Gangasagar (Holy Confluence)
Early morning drive to Lot No. 8, followed by a ferry ride across the Muriganga River to Sagar Island. Take a sacred dip at Gangasagar, where the Ganges meets the Bay of Bengal, and offer prayers at the historic Kapil Muni Ashram. Return to Kolkata for overnight stay.
Day 3 — Kolkata to Puri Transfer
Check out from Kolkata after breakfast and board the train or drive to Puri, Odisha. Upon arrival in Puri, check in to your hotel near the beach. Spend the evening visiting the lively Puri Beach and watching the coastal sunset.
Day 4 — Jagannath Temple Darshan & Puri Sightseeing
Proceed for early morning Darshan at the sacred Jagannath Puri Temple, one of the four holy Char Dham shrines. Later, visit Gundicha Temple, Lokanath Temple, and Bedi Hanuman Temple. Afternoon at leisure to sample Mahaprasad.
Day 5 — Konark Sun Temple & Chilika Lake Excursion
Take an excursion to the UNESCO World Heritage Site – Konark Sun Temple, renowned for its magnificent chariot architecture. Continue to Chilika Lake (Satapada) for a boat cruise to spot Irrawaddy dolphins and visit the Rajhans Island.
Day 6 — Puri to Patna / Gaya (Overnight Journey)
Morning free for beach walk or optional shopping for local Sambalpuri handicrafts. Check out from Puri in the afternoon and board the train towards Patna / Gaya in Bihar to begin the next leg of your pilgrimage.
Day 7 — Arrival in Patna & Drive to Champaran
Arrive in Patna and drive towards Champaran (Bettiah/Motihari). Check in to your hotel and visit sacred sites associated with Mahaprabhu Vallabhacharya and historic temples in the region, along with Gandhian heritage monuments.
Day 8 — Champaran Pilgrimage & Kesariya Stupa Excursion
Visit the sacred Baithakji sites in Champaran. Afterward, take a trip to the nearby Kesariya Stupa, one of the largest Buddhist stupas in the world. Spend the evening attending local temple prayers and spiritual discourse.
Day 9 — Champaran to Patna & Departure
After breakfast, drive back from Champaran to Patna Airport or Railway Station for your onward departure journey, completing your 9-day East India Yatra.
